Transportation from the farm included
Join us for a fun-filled day with Costa Rican horses, experience their movement and beauty. We will visit a number of authentic Costa Rican stables where you will meet and learn about the Costa Rican breeds; Iberoameracana, Costarriccence de Paso and Criollos.

Riding lessons day trip
1 hour approximately
Join us for a riding lesson in a fun and relaxed atmosphere. Are you a rider that would like to experience some cute athletic Costa Rican horses, or are you a beginner that would like to spend some time with horses and would like to try something different than a trail ride.
Come and meet our horses and choose an appropriate mount for your level of riding. Practice dressage, jumping or recreational riding while enjoying our pleasant facilities.

Basic trail ride
1.5 hours
Ride out among the beautiful farms with lovely views then descend into a little town and then continue back to our farm.

Meet the farmers day trip
3 hours total (Barking Horse Farm*)
Take a ride through the beautiful farm land of Puriscal with a stop at a working farm. Take a tour of the farm and see how sugar is made. This farm produces milk, eggs, honey and they also have chickens, pigs, oxen, and more. Meet the friendly family . Then have lunch at a nearby local restaurant.
Cattle herding day trip
3 hours total (Barking Horse Farm*)
Have fun herding cattle with a neighboring farmer. You have been to the beaches, seen the volcano’s and ziplined the rain forests. Now see the farms and meet the farmers.
Trapiche ride
4 hours (Barking Horse Farm*)
Ride to a panoramic view point and then tour a traditional sugar mill called a Trapiche. On the way home stop for a delicious lunch at a local restaurant. 4 hours of riding, including stops it takes all day.
Puente fiero
5 hour ride (Barking Horse Farm*)
A guided horseback ride to Puente Fiero at Rio Negro for a swim in the cool waters and enjoy a picnic lunch on the banks of the river.
Tabarcia de Mora
5 hour ride (Barking Horse Farm*)
A Climb to a ridge with a 360 degree view, cross rivers as you descend into a valley to have lunch at a local restaurant in a quaint village. Take your horses over a suspension bridge on the way home.
